Here are some links to stuff I like,
use or am interested in.

Just so you know, I don't work for or receive any compensation from any company listed here.

Burke Mountain Singer/Songwriter Series
These are great folks, and with the new sound system, it's now a great place to hear great music in an intimate setting.
The food’s great, too!
(The above statement about not receiving compensation doesn't apply to this link - I do receive compensation from these folks when I play there.)

My Boatbuilding Site
One of my hobbies is boat building. This web site chronicles the construction of a 16-foot, cuddy cabin sailboat that I finished in October 2008.

Nashville Songwriters Association International
No other organization does anywhere near as much for songwriters. If you're a songwriter, or want to be a songwriter, you need to join. They have lots of programs to teach the basics to beginners and to keep the rest of us motivated until we get our shot.
If you're a rich and famous songwriter, you should be contributing money and your name to their lobbying efforts in Washington. You'll be making more money as a songwriter as a direct result of their lobbying efforts.

The Readings
Chris and Eric Reading are a Nashville duo who write great songs and have a great sound. Eric and I have written a few songs together (including “Turn Left Go Fast,”which is featured on my current CD release, “Lucky Dog”).
Check 'em out, and buy their CD. You won't be sorry.

The Bluebird Cafe
After all these years, it's still the preeminent writers venue in Nashville.

Douglas Corner Cafe
Another great place to play and hear music in Nashville.

The French Quarter Cafe
Another great place to play and hear music in Nashville.

XM Satellite Radio
Once you have sat radio, you'll never listen to regular broadcast radio again.

Taylor Guitars
I've played a Martin D-35 for 20+ years, but a butcher of a luthier (authorized by Martin to do repairs and warranty work) in Burlington, Vermont screwed it up so badly, I finally had to start shopping for a new, main guitar (if you want to know who this hack is and what he did to my beautiful D-35, just ask -- maybe I'll post the whole story here for everyone to read. If you need guitar work in Burlington, Vermont, definitely e-mail me. You do NOT want this guy anywhere near your guitars).
I now have a Taylor 810 with the ES system pickups and it is an amazing guitar. The folks at Taylor are great ( I asked for a couple of little changes to the standard 810, which they did without a problem). It is such a beautiful guitar, I get a jolt every time I open the case and see it.
They have several different model lines at several different price points. If you're looking for the guitar you'll have for the next 20 or 30 years, make sure you play a Taylor before you decide.

CF Martin Guitars
I still love my Martin D-35. There is simply nothing like the sound of an old, Martin dreadnaught guitar.

N-Track Studio
This is a great, low cost, digital multi-track program for the PC (I'm a Mac guy, but I do have and use PCs, when I am absolutely forced to). This program and a quality sound card will turn your computer into a recording studio. You can download the whole version, and buy/register the copy (which unlocks several features not available in the trial version) for $49. Lots of online support, too.
